HAWAII Women’s National Dual Team

2025 Women’s National Duals

June 17 - 22, 2025

This All-State Team will attend the 2025 Women’s National Duals representing the Hawaii Federation of USA Wrestling.  This is the largest and most competitive girls-only dual championship with state teams from all over the country.  Every state brings their best wrestlers and some states bring 4+ teams.  Hawaii girls could get up to 9 matches in Freestyle, and 7 matches in Greco!  Lots of College coaches attend to recruit!  (FYI: Girls wrestle Freestyle in college.)

QUALIFICATIONS
Open to All wrestlers to apply, but we encourage the following qualifications to be met:

  • State Placer at any USAW or HHSAA State Event
    • HFUSAW Freestyle & Greco States Top 3
    • HFUSAW Folkstyle States Top 3
    • HHSAA State Tournament Top 6
  • OR demonstrate High Caliber wrestling ability
  • Junior Division - born after Sept. 1, 2005 and enrolled in grades 9-12
  • Must have a current USAW Membership

Additional Requests:

  • Attend every scheduled national team practice, including the All Girls State Practices.
  • Make every effort to compete in all HFUSAW tournaments possible.
  • Make every effort to travel to other regional and national USAW Events.

 

TRAVEL ITINERARY

June 17 - Everyone arrives in Indiana

June 18 - Weigh-ins for Freestyle 5pm

June 19 - Wrestle Freestyle

June 20 - Wrestle Freestyle, Weigh-In for Greco 7pm

June 21 - Wrestle Greco

June 22 - Fly home, or fly to Pocatello for Turf Wars (Weigh-ins at 6pm)

 

DUAL TEAM SELECTION PROCESS

All wrestlers are welcome to apply, but there will be a wrestle-off to determine the ranking of the wrestlers at each weight.  

  • Potential Lineups will be released APRIL 8th

  • Wrestle-offs Dates: April 12th or 19th, Location on Oahu TBD, **Dates are subject to change.

  • Wrestle-offs must be scheduled and confirmed with the Head Coach.

  • Weight Classes: 95, 100, 105, 110, 115, 120, 125, 130, 135, 140, 145, 155, 170, 190, 207, 235

  • Must declare up to 2 weight classes they would like to wrestle off for

  • Must weigh-in within 3% over the weight class

  • Format for Wrestle-offs:

    • 2 wrestlers at a weight class = 1 match

    • 3+ wrestlers at a weight class = Round Robin

      •  A 3-way tie will be broken by win type (Pin or Forfeit - 5, Tech. Fall - 4, Decision-3)

  • Referees will be USAW certified and use 3-man mechanics (Mat, Judge, Chair)

COMMUNICATION

Stay in the loop and communicate with everyone by downloading the Band app and joining the “Women’s National Team” group.  Up-to-date information and details will be posted in the group.

COST:  PAYMENT DUE DATE: APRIL 29th

An invoice will be applied to your cart in the USAW Membership system. Payment must be made by the due date in order to be on the team. (May 1st - Team Registration is due to USA Wrestling.)

 

FUNDING

As of right now, each individual will fund the trip entirely themselves, including coaches, referees, and volunteers.  However, we are actively looking for Donations.  If you know anyone who would like to donate, this would reduce the cost for each girl equally.

*All Donations & Fees go into the HFUSAW Women’s Development Fund and will be used to help subsidize the cost of those attending the Women's National Duals.

 

Team Registration Fee*

  • $1375 per team

  • This fee will be divided evenly among all the wrestlers on the dual team

  • Paid to HFUSAW

Team Uniform*

  • $100 package per person

  • Team Singlet: 1 Red, 1 Blue

  • Team Shirt and Hoodie

  • Pay to HFUSAW

Team Van Rental

  • $1300 van + $100 gas = $1400, divided by each person using the van

  • Parents may opt to rent their own vehicle, however, athletes that are traveling without guardians must stay with their designated chaperone and ride in the team van.

  • Pay to HFUSAW

Team Hotel

  • $200 per night, sleeps 4, $50 per night per person, 5 nights = $250 total

  • Everyone should plan to stay at this hotel to keep the team together

  • Embassy Suites by Hilton, Indianapolis North

  • Includes breakfast, and parents can request their own room at their own cost.

  • Pay to HFUSAW

Airfare

  • $800-$1100 per person

  • Each athlete will secure their own flight, ensuring that they arrive on June 17th and depart on June 22nd.

Food

  • $70 per day per person is recommended, 6 days, Total = $420

  • Each person traveling will be responsible to purchase their own food.  Coaches and chaperones will make sure that the kids are fed.

Total

  • The total amount due to HFUSAW and the total cost of the trip will depend on the choices each parent makes for the athlete.  Each parent and athlete will need to communicate their plans early and clearly with the Head Coach. Items with an asterisk are mandatory (Registration Fee + Team Uniform)

DELEGATION
Coaches - USAW only gives each team 4 coaches passes
Referee - Each team is required to provide one official or a $1000 fee
Volunteer - Each team is required to provide one volunteer to work the table

PREPARATION

  • TEAM PRACTICES will be Sundays 1:30p - 4:30p (except on holidays) starting March 2nd
  • See schedule in the “Women’s National Team” Band App
  • Practices include the All Girls State Practices
  • Exceptions will be made for neighbor island wrestlers

SAFE SPORT POLICY

As the official Women’s National Team for the Hawai`i Federation of USA Wrestling, we adhere to the authority of the Safe Sport organization and their policies.  All athletes, coaches, and parents will adhere to the Safe Sport Policies and USA Wrestling’s Code of Conduct.  Any violation of these policies will result in removal from the program, and potential removal of your membership from USA Wrestling.

SOCIAL MEDIA

  • What to post
    • Footage of Drills, warm-ups, technique, games
    • Positive commentary about the program, the volunteers, or YOUR OWN ATHLETE.
  • What NOT to post
    • LIVE wrestling footage
    • Negative commentary about the program, the volunteers, or ANY OF THE ATHLETES.  This is considered CYBER BULLYING and is a violation of Safe Sport Policy.
