The United World Wrestling Federation, in partnership with the China Hong Kong Wrestling Federation, hosted the Annual International Wrestling Competition on September 29, 2024, in Tuen Mun, Hong Kong. This prestigious event brought together top wrestling talent from across the globe, including teams from China, Hong Kong, Mongolia, Russia, Japan, India, Canada, Taiwan, Finland, Great Britain, and the USA.
As part of the international tour, Team USA arrived a week early to participate in a training camp led by the Hong Kong Wrestling Federation. National coaches from each country shared their expertise, offering technique and strategy sessions, fostering a unique atmosphere of learning and collaboration. Despite language barriers, wrestlers formed lasting friendships, helped by the use of the Google Translate app, while gaining exposure to diverse cultures.
When not on the mat, the team took advantage of the opportunity to explore Hong Kong. Athletes visited iconic sites, temples, and even Hong Kong Disneyland, creating unforgettable memories.
This event was a priceless developmental and cultural experience for both the athletes and their coaches.
